Canon EW-73B Overview

The Canon EW-73B Lens Hood is designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

The “petal” shape of this lens hood maximizes the amount of hood coverage for the minimum amount of weight and hood area. This dedicated lens hood is designed to match the specific focal length of the lens it was designed for.

I bought the Canon EW-73B Lens hood for my Canon 18-135mm telephoto lens and it fits nice and snug. I read some reviews on it and wanted a genuine Canon Hood and not any other brand. It cost little more than the “others” but you pay for what you get. The quality is great and should last a long time.

Very nice lens hood. Rock solid and petal designed. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the inside of the hood is covered by a sort of short black suede. There is no way any stray light could reflect off of it into the lens. I didn’t see that in the description, but it’s a very nice feature that I’m betting cheaper hoods don’t have. Nice product!

This fits the Canon EOS Rebel T7I camera and works well. It protects from dust and glare, fitting exactly since it was designed for this camera. I don’t know what other models the lens hood fits, but this is what the Canon user manual recommends. It arrived in fine condition in the package from , too. Thanks.
