It features a sturdy all-metal construction and a rectangular shape, which makes it 0.08″ shallower and 0.35″ wider than the original Sony hood. This allows it to cut most of the glare from overhead lights and significantly lowers the chance of vignetting at wide angles, resulting in an overall cleaner picture.
